In terms of alcohol content (or the high you get) I'm interested in knowing the equivalents among various drinks -

1 glass of wine = ? beers
1 ounce of whiskey = ? beers
1 Tequilla shot = ? beers
1 ounce of rum = ? beers

.. you may also include other drinks which you know. I'm interested in these details because I would like to limit myself to 4-5 beers when I drink and I would like to know the equivalents if I drink other stuff.. ThanksaLot

1 small glass (125 ml) of wine is the same alcohol content as half a pint of 3.5% beer, and one shot (25 ml) of any 40% spirit (tequila, rum, vodka, whatever). Check the Bristol site below for further exact comparisons. So 4-5 beers equals 8-10 shots, or 200-250 ml of spirits or 1 litre (a bottle) of wine. You're drinking way too much! It's about a week's consumption at government-recommended levels.

in alcohol, wine is 12 %, beer is 5% spirits are 40%

a medium glass of wine is the same as a small beer or a single tot of spirit. It is best not to mix "grape" and "grain", that is, a couple of beers and a whisky is OK, or some wine and a brandy. In my experience rum goes with anything! (except driving of course)

1 shot=1 glass of beer= 1 cooler
all drinks work out to have the same amount of alcohol, no matter if they are mixed fruity ones, a shot, or a beer.

Alcohol is measured by volume.

One bottle of beer @ 5% by vol = 334/20 = 16.7

Small glass of wine @ 14% by vol = 16.3

Ounce of any hard liquor @ 40% by vol = 15

So the beer is slightly stronger than a small glass of wine and a bit stronger than once ounce of regular hard spirits.

it all really depends on the size of the shot or glass and the alcohol percentage in the beer and other drink
