If U have too, & don't want a nice smooth finish with a spray can U can. use a high heat paint for casr motors, thin the paint & use a wide spong paint brush, it will not leave as many brush strocks a brisel brush. good luck with that.

Don't use regular paint on your oven, it won't stick. There is a spray paint by Rustolium that is an epoxy made for appliances. They also make a brush on version of it as well, though the results are not as good unless you are very careful. My boyfriend used the brush on stuff on the stove in his last house and it came out pretty well, but peeled a bit in some places on the range top (I say he didn't clean the surface well enough before painting). I have used the spray epoxy on the vent hood of our stove and it came out great, but I was able to take it outside to do it, it is very stinky.
I got the spray at Home Depot, I figure they might carry the brush on stuff as well.

Yes you can use rustoleum barbecue paint. Use a gloss black or simi-gloss black for the best looking finish. You do not need to prime it, but you will need to dull the existing paint by sanding it lightly with fine grit sandpaper (220 grit). The sanding will make the new paint stick better and keep it from peeling off later. You may not end up with a finish that looks as good as a new oven, but it maybe a big improvement if you have an old oven with an ugly color.

most oven doors are finished with a baked on enamel or porcelain finish which is extremely difficult to cover. To add another layer of paint you would first need to scratch up the original finish with something like sandpaper or steel wool so there would be no going back. The paint you would need to use may be something like an epoxy or a special appliance epoxy that is durable enough and temperature resistant enough to last without peeling off. I would suggest you not try it yourself but contact a professional.

no, you cannot paint an oven door, for the same reason as the stovetop. while some oven doors will remain cool to the touch on the outside, there is always radiant heat that will cause the paint to crack and peel. not to mention, if you don't use spray paint it will just look like a**. i wouldn't even suggest a krylon grill paint.

What a dumb thing to do....sorry but I hope you don't use spray
paint with a gas stove and blow up the whole trailer park. You
would put a lot of nice girls out of work if you had a big explosion
and fire. Man, alive, don't paint your oven door or I'm sending Mr T over there to stomp your brain back into your fool head.

you could use a high heat paint, but i would only do this if you're willign to take the door off and spray paint it outside. brushing it on would look horrible.
