said that he would like the American troops to stay in Iraq for at least 3 more years until Iraq can gather and support a real military. He also accused the media of focusing only on the negative aspects of what is going on and portraying everything in a negative manner when a lot of good is being done. My question is to liberals...

I know you do not support this war or the troops, but dont you think the Iraqi president would know best what his country needs? Now dont get me wrong, I really dont give a crap about Iraq or what it needs, im more into finding and destroying terrorists, terrorist harboring countries, and terrorist hideous (which we have been doing). But its you all who the Iraq President is referring to when he says that ppl are portraying this war so negatively to make it look like nothing good is coming out of it, so do you claim he is a liar as well?????

Map - its either one or the other, if you do not support the war then you are spitting on the troops...so you cant have it both ways bud...sry to tell ya. Why would he try and get morale in America up for the war? LoL that makes absolutely no sense. Also, its not that I want my *** safe b/c i think im pretty safe where im at, but its the fact that this country was deliberately attacked therefore we HAD to go to war, yeah it sux ppl are dying but it sucked worse that these jackasses killed 3000 innocent ppl on 9/11, and then it sucks just as bad that the American ppl cant support a war against ppl who are willing to enter our country and kill themselves just so we suffer, there wasnt a choice bud, hate to tell ya...

I know what you mean. The Iraqis are NOT trying to get rid of us. They are afraid we'll desert them.

If we do, NO ONE will believe that we'll back them up, ever again. They'll ally themselves with China or someone else with the "cojones" instead.

PS Read these boards. People are claiming BUSH caused 9/11! They hate this country and want to bring it down.

They just might succeed.

God help us.

"I know you do not support this war or the troops"

I'm glad you're asking this with an open mind. Supporting or not supporting the war is not the same as supporting or not supporting the troops. I support the troops who have done the best job they can, no thanks to their civilian leadership in Washington and Baghdad.
You want your *** safe and you don't care who gets killed in the process. This war is negative. Iraqi's and Americans are being killed every day. Did it ever occur to you that the Iraqi president's comments were designed to bolster American public opinion about the war? It's called spin whether it comes in Arabic or English.

I don't support the troops who volunteered to go to Iraq because they should know better. This is an illegal immoral war.
Bush and the generals want out in a year and a half. If it's going so well, WHY does Maliki want them there LONGER?

Maliki knows that his government will collapse if the US pulls out. He also knows that it will take time for his forces to be able to stabilize Iraq. But that is tempered with the knowledge that the US cannot keep its forces there indefinitely.
