Yes! I've done it before myself (sent cookies as a thank-you gift). Be sure to pack them tightly and pack the container into the FedEx box tightly as well, so that it doesn't shift around during shipping and end up with nothing but crumbs for your recipient.
To do this, add crumpled up newspaper or tissue paper into the box until it is full.
