And she is only in 7th grade like me. I know its true because she told me and she is gaining alot of weight and eating alot of food. All I have done with a boy is made out. Am I behind it seems like alot of people my age are having sex. So am I behind in that matter or something?

I think it's good that you wait. All my friends were having sex for year when I was in high school and my first time didn't happen until I was17. Just go with what YOU think feels right, and not what everyone else is doing, or you could end up just like that girl before you're ready.

When I was in the ninth grade, a friend of mine came to school and told me that her mother said I couldn't hang around her anymore because I had a boyfriend. We only saw each other in school, and talked on the phone. Six weeks later, she had to tell her mom she was pregnant.
I said that to say this: I was seventeen before I lost my virginity, to the man I was ten days away from marrying. We have a four year old daughter together. You will be ready when you are ready. I had my first real kiss at fifteen. I'm not ashamed of it. The boy was my first love, so it was good. I can tell you from experience that sex does not make you an mature. Understanding the consequences, andstaying away from it until you're ready, makes you mature.

It shouldn't matter what everyone else is doing. You need to be who you are and stay true to yourself at all times. You will be with yourself a lot longer than your friends will be with you. I wish I would have listened to my mom when she told me that as it would have saved me a lot of trouble when I was growing up. My daughter is in fifth grade and I hope that she listens to me about that. You'll end up a completely different person than who you really are or who you want to be if you follow what everyone else is doing. Do you want the stress of wondering if you are pregnant and if he really loves you and all that mess on top of the stress that you already have? Teenage years are the hardest years and you couldn't pay me enough money to go back because of the stress and changes that your body goes through which is why I have made myself become the type of mom that my daughter can talk to about ANYTHING even though it hurts to hear what she has to say sometimes. All I can say though is please, just be you, you are the only one that's good at that! If you follow that advice and look back when you are an adult, you will be so much happier and with fewer regrets.

OMG 7th grade..what is that 12 years old..wow times have changed. Sex is not what people potray it to be at such a young age my dear. Please don't go out and have sex just because she did. I know it's hard especially with all these shows on tv talking about how cool and nice sex is but the truth is, sex is not good. Making love is. When you find that one person that will be with you even if you are pregnant and will hold your hand and be by your side then it's worth every second, but if you want to just sleep around, that is a life not worth living because all you will do is regret every man you have been with. I think you should find a positive adult role model and learn about life not through others mistakes. I wish you the best.

You're not behind at all. My sister is the 7th grade and she's never even kissed a boy. Take your time! There's plenty of time to grow up later. Enjoy your youth while you still have it!

Just wanted to say that NO! You are no way behind in anything. Dating issues are soemthign to take seriously and not a race to see who gets there first. And so you know, none of my friends were having sex in the 7th grade because we all realized we weren't emotionally mature enough for that.

You are not behind in things. Do not start having sex. The girl that is pregnant should be sent away and have the baby taken away. Girls like that are sluts and will never make it anywhere in life. Stay the way you are and do not have sex until you are on birth control and are aold enough to understand what it is all about.

no, these kids are just that, kids. and now they're HAVING kids because they arent responsable. there is no reason to have sex that young there is no reason to be making out that young. i'm only 24 and i think this is completely out of control and apparently schools arent doing their job of telling kids the consiquesces of getting sexually active so young. girls have no idea the risk of cervical cancer that is caused by having sex so early with multiple partners, and kids think that they are mature enough to handle it, when they arent, and then they think that they need to sleep with everyone that spreads their legs, when the only person you should be sleeping with is someone who you LOVE and want to spend your life with, and at 13 there is no way you know either of those!!!
so good for you for still being a decient young lady, and believe me, if you act like a young lady you will be treated like one, if you act like a whore you'll be treated like that instead. what would you prefer??

Why would you want to be a $lut or a teen mother? Those tend to be really negative.
Don't have sex until you are out of high school. High school is bad enough, but you don't want to deal with ex's that you have had sex with there too.

You are the smart one! Do you really want to take a chance of having a baby? No more dating - no more movies - not much fun for a very long time. Be smart and finish growing up first. Then get married before you have sex - you will not be sorry!
