But sexy stuff is a good idea, a few xmasses ago i bought a bunny outfit, wrapped it up and gave it to my bf. He looked a bit bemused when he opened it, til he realised it wasn't for him to wear!!! Becoming an adult in legal terms is quite a remarkable experience. Many view it as a step forward to total independence, so you might want to look for something that would signify this aura of self-sufficiency and freedom.

When it comes to the topic of independency, nothing beats "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand and "Revolution from Within" by Gloria Steinem. Personally, I'm crazy about literature, but of course not everyone shares an enthusiasm for such endeavors, and your boyfriend may have particular interests that only the two of you may know about.

This said, I guess your choice of a gift for your boyfriend's 18th birthday would largely depend on his interests, your budget, as well as on how intimate and serious your relationship is.

If you still couldn't come up with something in mind, it might help to seek advice from his close friends/family members regarding what they think he'd enjoy having this year.

You don't have to end the day with a bang. Perhaps a lovely quiet dinner or a simple greeting card would be enough. Remember, this is a day to celebrate, not to fret about. So, regardless of what you may give him, bear in mind that love and appreciation are often best expressed by showing how happy you are when you're around the people you care about the most.

Wish you well. God speed!

Hey, most people think you want to give him sex but don't. That's a little trashy. Just do something special like he may do for you. Take him out on a special date to eat or something then go back to your place. Maybe u can cook him something and stay in. Or take him to something he may like such as a sports game. Just be creative.

Depends what kinda guy he is. My sis got her boyf jewellery but my boyf doesn't where it. For my boyfs 18th I managed to get him an autograph of his fave band which he loved because of the effor I put in to get it as much as the fact that the autograph he got! For his 21st I got a really nice classy scrap book from the store and collected loads of memorabilia from the years we've been together, like photos of special occassions, cards, letters, tickets from places we've been and presented them allr eally nicely. It also means he can add to it as we ge older. Soppy but he really liked it, again because of the effort and it looked nice not tacky and cheap. Good luck!

Make him a book full of pictures of the two of you and written memories. Then, decorate it.
Also, look around for things that the two of you have common interest in. For instance, if the two of you love Napoleon Dynamite & you call him Napoleon & he calls you Pedro (figuratively speaking), then by him some random Napoleon Dynamite stuff..

How about a hand engraved glass/pint jug. I used to engrave for living and used to sell a lot of pint jugs or glass keys with names, dates and sentiments on them. Also used to do hand drawn portraits but that was on paper or canvas. Don't see many about nowadays. Just a thought.
