I do not like green eggs and ham because a book told me so. Big Brother was controlling my every move in 1984.
NOW HERE IS THE QUESTION
How many people really believe what a they read in a book???
P.S I got reported for not asking a question when I really did. That is why I have that in uppercase.

I am as astounded (as you seem to be) that people believe something just because it is in print. That doesn't mean that I don't read. It means that I think for myself.

Every book writen had some fiction in it, it is all based on the authors point of veiw. If the author see something in a different was than some one eles that does not make either of them wrong but just means that they learned to look at thing different.
So when answering do i really believe what I read in book I would say sometimes beacuase i have to make my own conclutions on how the author wanted to write the book, but overall no.

It really depends on the book. You need to investigate and see if the book is really worthy of your confidence.
If I am reading a medical book and it tells me I need to take certain measures for my health, and that does not go according to what I would have normally thought, then I try to find out where the book came from, who wrote in it, how much authority they have.
In the same way, if a book tells me things about spiritual matters, about eternity, about a relationship with God, I want to check the book out - I won't take someone else's word for it being either true or false.
I assume we are talking about the Bible here. Everyne has to do their own homework, really. Some people say "The Bible is true, it is the Word of God" but they haven't really found that out for themselves. Others say "The Bible is an old book, and is not the Word of God, and is proven to be full of contradictions" - and they haven't investigated either. So if it is the Bible you are wondering about, I would suggest you really do a personal investigation, and the best way of starting an investigationo is to read it for yourself first. Don't take anyone's word for it.
(I would say the same for the Koran or the book of Mormon. My prediction of the outcome might be different.)

If the book is fiction then I read it as fiction and enjoy the story. If the book is a story that is suppose to be the truth as is the bible and I'll will perceive it as truth until I believe otherwise.

Since this question is in the religion category, you must be talking about the Bible, yes?
What is there to not believe? You don't believe in telling the truth? That's in the Bible. You think your significant other should keep his equipment in his pants? Rats, that's in there too. You think people should be allowed to break into your house and steal all your stuff? Oh, and perform various acts of violence against you before they kill you? There's actually something in there about stealing and murder too. Darn!
So many ignorant people who say they don't believe in the Bible, but all of them want to live under the protection of the rules it very clearly spells out, and were used as a basis for our court system. That's pretty strange.

It depends. I usually believe nonfiction books. Usually. I don't believe fiction books. They're fiction; by nature they aren't true.
