i really my ex bf, were still mates and stuff, we went out about 2 years ago i finshed it with him but i really like him and i cant stop thinking about, he told me he loved me and kissed the top of my head the other day, do you think that we could give it another go, mine and my exs best mate fancies me and i think my ex dont wanna hurt him.

Try seconds, just stay aware of his actions and relationship. If it's starting to fall, break up before he does to you. It'll make you feel less miserable because you did it and not him.
