Maturity is the ability to control anger and settle differences without violence or destruction. Maturity is patience. It is the willingness to pass up immediate pleasure in favor of the long-term gain. Maturity is perseverance, the ability to sweat out a project or a situation in spite of heavy opposition and discouraging set-backs. Maturity is the capacity to face unpleasantness and frustration, discomfort and defeat, without complaint or collapse. Maturity is humility. It is being big enough to say, "I was wrong." And, when right, the mature person need not experience the satisfaction of saying, "I told you so." Maturity is the ability to make a decision and stand by it. The immature spend their lives exploring endless possibilities; then they do nothing. Maturity means dependability, keeping one's word, coming through in a crisis. The immature are masters of the alibi. They are the confused and the disorganized. Their lives are a maze of broken promises, former friends, unfinished business, and good intentions that somehow never materialize. Maturity is the art of living in peace with that which we cannot change, the courage to change that which should be changed -- and the wisdom to know the difference.

maturity - wiser, tactful. it doesn't mean if one is young not mature. it very much depends what one has gone through in life and if they have learn from what they gone through. if they have learn from challenges they are thrown in at in life they will move on to another level of challenge in life and it gets harder from there but if they are able to deal and learn through all these from experiences......yes they can be mature even at younger age. fact - sadly there are still a lot of immature adults too.

Someone that knows when it's appropriate to act like a goofball and not to. Knows how to restrain their verbal skills when children are around. Has put enough time into his/ her career that when it's payday, you don't blow your check on 7 DVDs 3 new music albums, and oh that new i-pod you just had to have.

maturity is when you take responsibility, when to know that you are wrong and are smart to know when to leave a certain situation without any dramatics. Also, when you learn that not everything isn't about you.
