I need a new look right now I have long hair with layers that have grown out. I have to spend a lot of time straighting my hair just to make it look half way decent. I dont have the time for that who does? Does anyone have a haircut that doesnt take much time in the morning to syle and still looks good? I want kind of a wash and wear style, but long enough to still put into a pony tail on "those days". Whenever I get layers they seem to make my hair look boxy and the layers are very blunt looking almost like a shelf if that makes sense. I want to beable to go to Target or the mall without having to straighten my hair or just resort to putting it in a ponytail everytime. HELP :)

If you want to go short, get a bob cut.
If you want to be able to pull a pony tail, then cut to the length you want then feather it. With feather style you can just wash an air dry it (do not comb or brush after shampoo, run your fingers through to bluff your hair up or just put some gel in, bluff it with your fingers then air dry it, don't have to be blow dry or straigthen. I have a 8, 7, and 5 years old and have a full time job. Been there. :)

Shut up that nobody likes short hair on a woman, you're nuts!

Actually it depends on the texture & thickness of your hair. If you still wanna do a pony tail, the only thing you can do is long with layers. There isn't another option that includes the pony tail. As far as your layers seeming boxy. They might be straight cutting your hair instead of point cutting. The majority of the women in my family are hair dressers. Although I didn't go to school for it, I can roll a perm, color & highlight with the best of em. lol! If your hair is more straight than wavy, you may want to consider a body perm, then use some sort of texturizing product. It would give you that celebrity-bed-head type style. But if you get a perm, make sure they alternate the sizes of perm rods, otherwise it will look really fake. Otherwise, I'm afarid if you're hell-bent on keeping the pony tail, then your limited on your style options.
