This is a very toxic medication to a baby. There is supposed to be two forms of birth control used while people are on this medication, and the spouse or partner of the person on treatment should not even handle the ribavirin. Get to a doctor ASAP.

not that i am aware of....it can cause severe birth defects from what i understand. i do know of healthy babies long after treatment for heatitis c.

if she is pregnant, i'd seek the advice of a doctor to learn more of the devistation ribavirin can cause. (birth defects) i do know that a person "intoxes" on antiviral chemotherapy....and detoxing is not fun either...so if pregnant on the meds, the baby can certainly have some issues with detoxing as well as all the other medical issues regarding interferon and ribavirin.
