The beliefs within Wicca are diverse. There really isn't any one set belief. It is an earth-based religion, meaning we find all creation sacred, yet we do not worship creation. Some Wiccans are witches, some are not... that is a personal preference and not mandatory in order to be a Wiccan.

Well, Wiccans all kind of have their own path. They worship nature and god(s) and goddess(es). They mostly decide what they find its right for their beliefs and the way they feel about their lives. Not all witches are Wiccan, and not all Wiccans are witches. They have a book called a "Book of Shadows", which is a collection of spells, potions, herbs, and any other useful information that a Wiccan might need on their journey. Not ALL Wiccans use spells.

Wicca is both.

This is a very good place to start. Asking "What is Wicca" is like asking "What is Christianity" to a room filled with Baptists, Catholics and Episcopalians. There are varying paths with the same general belief system. There are lots of other very good, accurate sites:
http://paganwiccan.about.com/cs/whatiswicca/a/aawhatiswicca.htm
http://www.wicca.com/celtic/wicca/wicca.htm
http://www.controverscial.com/What%20is%20Wicca.htm
Please do not go to any Christian sites to research our path. I understand you're a Christian and don't say this to offend you, but if you truly want to know what it is, go to the sources that are by people who practice the path.
Blessed be, and thank you for asking instead of accusing.

there's ordinarily a ninety percentage danger that by the point that she is eighteen she may have misplaced intrest in it. however that's no longer what you requested. the reply is noteasy, however in brief it's sure. simply in an additional method. Wiccans are Pagan, they suppose in a couple of god, and ordinarily worship a God and a Goddess. a few nevertheless name themselves ChrostoWiccan and suppose in God as a multi faceted being competent of many manifestations at a unmarried time. and think about all gods as aspect of 1 bigger god. As for Attending Church being in opposition to the faith, Most Wiccans that i do know make it a factor to research different religions and to be trained up to viable from them. each faith has it is knowledge and anything can regularly be discovered from an afternoon within the corporation of men and women which can be exclusive from your self. Many Pagans do have an additional perception within the production of the universe than what the Christians do. I could reccomend that you just purchase a couple of books, ideally by means of Scott Cunningham. he is among the principal authors on Wicca. and browse up on it for your self. this fashion you'll realise what it's that your daughter is doing. Wicca and a couple of different types of Paganism (I occur to be a Celtic Pagan) present quality perception into a non secular existence. however unfortunatly additionally it is exploited by means of hollywood and plenty of teenagers get into it beause it has turn out to be the "cool" factor to be. they dabble for a couple of years, and while they don't see the matters that they noticed within the films they turn out to be boared. after which both turn out to be Athiest or revert to a monothestic faith. a few do uncover a connection to the gods, they usually move on to guide very well lives. like i mentioned learn up on it and browse good recognized authors, Scott cunningham and Silver ravenwolf are quality for inexperienced persons. Know what the faith is approximately. I could wager that your daughter has a Wiccan pal that she is getting all of her expertise from. Learn the faith your self, and realize it. that method you'll realize what to appear out for, and what forms of practices are NOT of the faith.

Check for this information yourself so you don't get any wacky ideas. Once you're informed them you can understand what all the controversy is all about. I have been Wicca for a long time and for me it is the ideal religion. You should make up your own mind about what to believe.

Wicca is a kind of general concept for people who believe that they are following ancient pre-christian religious traditions. Most Wiccans kind of pick and chose between a variety of pagan gods and goddesses. some are animists believing that all things have a spiritual nature (similar to voodun). Some are true pagans believing in a pantheon of gods and goddesses. Some believe that are representations are ultimately representative of a single god or goddess (similar to Hindu beliefs). More than a few have pretty eclectic beliefs.

When I looked into it several years ago I found many many links to satanic and occult evils... I was not of The True Christian Faith at that time and my opinion of wicca is based on what I learned long befor becomeing of The Faith.... It is a deception of evil...most who participate no nothing of the darker side of it... today thay do a very good job in the PR area and sucker many into it... but it is nothing but a deception of the forces of evil....
stay as far away from it as you can...
I have had a wiccan curse/spell/whatever put on me by a wiccan... today, as one of The Faith it has no effect on me... but it has affected ones close to me in very negative ways... the ones affectred are no of The Faith so are vulnerable...but they refuse to recognize the sourse of what is negativly affecting them...... the forces of evil are not to be taken lightlly... they can be summoned and they can cause harm.... sometimes very great harm...
