A relationship is what you put into it. If you put great things in, you will receive great things. Long distance relationships can work if you are willing to work on it. You have to set boundaries and rules that each of you must abide by. Also, try not to go out to bars and things a lot while you are away from your significant other. This can lead to unnecessary arguments and fights, and it's really not worth it. Lastly, you have to MAKE time for each other. Phone calls, letters, weekend trips, all of these things will really make a difference. It's a give and take thing. Good luck!

Well there are a lot of variables- how long, a few hours, a few states, a continent or two?? How long have you known this person, have you ever met face to face, etc
My husband and I have been married almost 3 years, together for 7 this month. We lived 6 hours apart when we met and through the first 3 years of our relationship. It is not easy by any means. Unlimited long distance on your phone and a computer are vital! Communication is the key. There will doubt and trust issues with long distance. Keep talking to each other, keep reassuring each other. If it is meant to be you will work past the miles. Good Luck

Yes and no. It's up to the two people involved in the relationships to make it work. Also they do need to from time to time actually see eachother in person and spend time in person or it will never work. The true love you get and feel from hugging, kissing, cuddling, even sex is not there when there is distance involved. And long distance relationships don't just have to be about geographic distance either. Some can feel emotionally and mentally distancing as well. I went through one. It ended when I dumped her for her "mind games". Sigh some women.

As long as they remain "long distance" they work. I think the reason is that each time you are together it is like a honeymoon renewed. The problem starts when you decide to be together permanently. That is when you begin to notice your differences, bad habits, etc. It is easy for both concerned to be on their best behavior for short periods of time. Good Luck To You!

if communication is constant and in ur distance u act like that person is very much with u and around u (in other words, dont be cheatin just bcuz they are not physically with you or in the same city n what not) then yeah it can work...but the key is to compensate for the distance by being there in other ways i think...letters, talkin on the fone and what not....something to provide a closeness in another way, whateva that would be for u in ur relationship....

I dont think they do. Mine didnt work, or any of my friends. I think thats another reason why celebrity marriages never work out because they are always so far away from each other.
