I rescued them from a shelter & they were obviously weaned too early. How can I stop him from sucking his brother's nipples?

I wouldn't worry about it. I have three male cats (the oldest at 3 years, one who is 6 months, and one who is 4 months), and when we brought Gir (6 months) home, he started trying to nurse on my oldest. At first, I was concerned, but after bringing the four-month-old home, he started doing the same thing. I'm not sure if this is exactly normal behavior for cats, but D.O.G. (don't ask... long story) doesn't seem to mind, and if the kittens get too rough, he lets them know. Let them be, they'll eventually grow out of it. Best wishes!

I wouldn't worry about it unless the one cat is annoyed or in pain. Then I'd prolly try giving the one cat a toy or something soft that is nipple-ish.

My cats did the same thing. They actually even nursed on their mother till they were practically grown. I ended up having to seperate them from her to ween them. But as long as it's not causing any health problems I wouldn't worry about it. It's actually kinda cute.

if the brother allows it, it wont hurt either one of them. sometimes it's just a comfort thing, like a pacifier. I had a cat when I was little that did the same thing to a stray that showed up.

There is nothing wrong with that at all the cat is just nurturing it's brother. Just let them be they will stop soon enough. There is nothing wrong with it.

That probaly means that he and his brother have a close bond and want to stay together. They probaly had 2 do that 2 survive and its probally a habit. If u want 2 get them 2 stop, try to keep them apart, no matter how much they beg 2 be together. but try not to overdo it.

You can call the vet and ask them for information. Anesthesia might have caused constipation or nausea, and no doubt he's not feeling so awesome anyway.
