It could be that the antibiotics just haven't started doing their work yet. Remember it can take a little while. Give it another day or two, and if there still isn't improvement, call the vet. Or you could call the vet now to help put your mind at ease.

You'll need to give the antibiotic a chance to start working. After the 7 days, the doctor will probably want you to either bring in another urine sample, or bring the cat in so that he can obtain another urine sample. At that time he will be able to tell if there is still an infection.
If you cat is going to the bathroom and producing urine, that's a good sign. The blood that you see can be from the infection. If it was something more serious, the doctor would have been able to tell that from the exam.
Just keep a close eye on your cat to make sure he's going to the bathroom and is actually urinating. Within a few days, you'll probably start to notice him acting a bit more normal.

It is not the antibiotic doing it, it's the infection. The drug is not working. I had the exact same problem with my cat, with the same antibiotic. The doctor insisted that he should take that for a longer time, but he got worse and finally blocked and had an operation of urethrostomy and he was close to dying. So, my advice is :
1. Give him Amoxicillin by injection. It is easy to do even at home, if the vet prepares the syringes for you. Or nitrofurantoin, but better use whatever antibiotic is shown by a sensitivity test, but by injection. I think the clavamox pills was not absorbed into the bladder, and it kept getting worse, although in vitro it worked.
2. Give him food that prevents urinary problems. because infections = alcaline PH = struvite crystals =blockage
3. Check when he pees that he is all right. If he strains or cries or pees outside the litterbox or just doesn't get any urine out, go to the vet ASAP for a catheter.
Good luck.
ATTENTION, NEW OBSERVATION: MAKE SURE HE GETS A LOT OF WATER, BY FEEDING HIM WET FOOD AND GIVING HIM EXTRA WATER ALSO, IN THE FOOD OR WITH A SYRINGE. DILUTE URINE HELPS CLEAR THE INFECTION AND THE DILUTION OF CRYSTALS.

use the antibiotic for the 7 days and if you continue to see the blood then you need to go back for a stronger antibiotic...it is common for the sight of blood when the cat has uti...my cat went through 2 rounds of clavamox and then had 2 rounds of baytril before he was completely healed of his uti...feed him purina one for urinary tract health dry food and plenty of water this will help heal faster

the antibiotic shouldn't be causing anything but healing, I'd call the Vet and tell them what's going on and ask if you should bring him in so they can get a sample....it normally takes about 24-48 hours before the antibiotic takes hold......but, blood in the urine could cause more serious problems, be safe, call your Vet.

It is most likely that the medicine isn't working yet. Think of it in terms as you getting a shot and medicine you don't fell better that quickly do you? I would call and make sure that this is normal so you can feel better but it will take a little time to get into his system and start working.

It could be both, but more like it is something in the urine, perhaps crystals. Call your vet immediately as they need to know what is happening in order to correct it.
Clavamox is a good drug, but some cats have bad reactions to it so the doctor may need to change the drug.
