Umm..well im trying to get a job. I got a job but then they did a backround check and found my Charge. How long do i have to worry about this or does it stay on there foreveR?

Depending on the type of conviction this could be with you the rest of your life. Some states have a "defered judgement" which means that if you meet all their requirements and after a limited amount of time you can have it expundged. Some states also allow you to petition the courts to have an old offense "sealed" so that it would no longer be public record. Call the local public defenders office or legal aid office and ask about your particular situation and laws. Good Luck!!!

The problem is not whether you've been deferred or not - or if it will be entered into the court record that this happened. The judge will take all things into consideration - and decide that you are indeed an ADULT and see that you suffer an adults punishment, in a juvenile facility.

i was 18 when i was arrested for $10 worth of pot. 6 months probation with deffered adjudication. i am 45 now and it still shows. our government is not forgiving even for petty crimes. good luck to you just be careful. by the way, back in my day we did not play tag as people today do. i wonder if anyone who is in law has a record and if so is it for all to see as it is for civilians?

sorry sista I've got a posession it will always always be on your record,my brother even went to a drug deference class for a maryjane charge he was pinned with when he was 19 he is almost 30 and its still there he now works in contsruction

It stays there forever. Just don't lie about it. You'll have to take a drug test. Once you pass it, you'll get the job if you don't lie.

Unfortuently this will stay on your record forever if you had a guilty plea.
