Why do you want to do this? I think that it has to come from her adopting you. Your birth mother would have to relinquish parental rights.
This could create massive pain for your birth mother. Just talk to you Godmother and let her know that in your heart you consider her your true mother,

If you are and adult, your Godmom can legally adopt you, if you both want this. Since you are an adult, though, I don't see what difference it would make. Ask a lawyer about it.

thats a religious thing there is no legal document for a godmother to be a godmother, has anybody explained to you the process and reason for a godmother? you are an adult it wont change anything!

I think you can as long as your mother has passed away or signed over all of her parental rights.. Call a local attorney and they can answer that for you.

Your God mom would have to go see an attorney. I`m with the other person who answered, "why would you do this?" Maybe you think there would be something in it for you.
