I've been there too, but I found out that the Bible has much hope to offer.
1) Revelation 212 v4 - Jehovah God promises to end suffering
2) Psalm 37 v11 - We have the hope of living forever on a peaceful Earth.
3) Proverbs 17 v17 - We do well to seek out good companionship, friends who wont leave at the first sight of trouble.
4) Phillippians 4 vs6-9 - Try not to be anxious about things, but think about peaceful, upbuildings, search for God and His peace will comfort you.
5) Psalm 55 v22 - Ask Jehovah God for relief and guidance.
There are many other comforting scriptures. I can personally testify to their efficacy. Ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses and see how much more comfort you can get from a deeo and satsfying study of the Bible.

Yes.
God is Love.
Our purpose in life is to develop our relationship with God. This is the true meaning of 'Religia' the root of religion.
Through this process our own lives become more fulfilling and happier - because we are pursuing the purpose of our time here on Earth as spiritual beings.
As we live life, experience things (both good and bad) and gain a perspective on the World, we also have an opportunity to achieve spiritual development. The more effcetively we learn to do this - the happier we become.
Why are we here - therefore becomes an easy question to answer too - we are here to develop our spiritual selves through the process of learning about and developing our realtionship with God - and therefore, in the process, becoming a happy and fulfiled person..
This should cheer anyone up - as it should help you realize how easy it can be to become happy and fulfilled - So good luck and good health.
...Think positive thoughts, ask positive questions of yourself, be all that you can be - and you will attract hapiness and cheer into your life - NOTHING else can be the case!

6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
-1 Peter 1 (NIV)
4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4 (NIV)

The Bible has SO many great passages, but these are some of my favorites to help me get and keep a good attitude in life.
Philippians 4:4-8 (New International Version [NIV])
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 FINALLY, brothers, WHATEVER IS TRUE, WHATEVER IS NOBLE, WHATEVER IS RIGHT, WHATEVER IS PURE, WHATEVER IS LOVELY, WHATEVER IS ADMIRABLE—IF ANYTHING IS EXCELLENT OR PRAISEWORTHY—THINK ABOUT SUCH THINGS
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Remember, as you think, so shall you be! Thinking nice, happy thoughts makes it a WHOLE lot easier to be nice and happy!!

My 40 year old production engineer discovered the stash of Mars and Almond Snickers I have keeps coming every 20 minutes saying, "Aziz, I have a sore throat. they say chocolates are good for sore throat..." and is giving me that 'look' meaning "no body loves me. I'm all alone. maybe I should go eat worms"
and NO you won't find that anywhere in the bible.
:p
Have a nice day.

"For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
I often look to this verse to find comfort and encouragement in times that I am down and feel like no one cares. God cares for you, and you need to seek His purpose for you in this life. When you are in the center of God's will (when you are doing what He expects of you), there is nothing better that you can do than to keep on keeping on. Hopefully you have put your trust in Jesus Christ, and this verse might cheer you up. God bless you and just hang in there.

'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John, chapter 3, verses 16 & 17). Hopes this makes you feel better.

Thank you! Your question has cheered ME up. It is so nice to see someone looking for the positive in life instead of focusing on the negative. That says alot about the kind of person you are. The sun will shine on you again because your heart is open to it, and soon the dark clouds will pass.

Psalm 100
"Shout with joy to the Lord, O earth. Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He has made us and we are his, we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever and his faithfulness continues to each generation."
Psalm 121:1
"I look up to the mountains-does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made the heaven and the earth. "
Psalm 105:1-3
"Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him: yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his miracles. Exult in his holy name: O worshipers of the Lord, rejoice."
