Because you are always comparing your new love to an ex love and that ruins the relationship. You have to start every relationship on a clean slate and let it evolve into something. But if you hold onto all of that baggage from before then you are then you are just setting yourself up for failure.

Some Dr Phil ****, but it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. You expect to be hurt, so you subconsciously work towards that end. We have to let go of all our prior pains and approach each relationship as a new experience or it WILL end the same.
