Here is my scone recipe. Just use 1oz=1 tablespoon and you can make then quite easily. If you dont have a tablespoon then 1oz= 2 dessert spoons. Good luck.
Add any sort of dried fruit to make them a bit different ( a handful should do it)

Scones
3-4 tablespoons of milk
9oz self-raising flour
pinch of salt
1oz golden castor sugar
1oz unsalted butter
1 large egg

Mix flour, salt and sugar in a processor. Add butter and mix until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Beat egg with half the milk and add slowly to the processor until it makes a soft but not sticky dough. If dough seems too dry, add remaining milk. Turn out onto a floured surface, roll out to 2cm thick. Use a 6cm cutter. Put the scones well apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. They can be left plain, dusted with a little flour or glazed with some beaten egg. Bake at 200oC/ Gas 7 for 12 minutes until well risen and golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
