I had deep plantars warts on my right foot. I had three successive surgeries to remove them and after each very painful surgery the warts quickly grew back larger than before. When I told the podiatrist that I didn't want any additional surgery he suggested that I try applying triamcinolone ointment (a common corticosteroid ointment) twice each day underneath a band-aid on the bottom of my foot. Within two weeks my plantars warts were gone, never to return. Thanks Dr - but why didn't you tell me this option before the three very painful surgeries?

Oh you HAVE to get them treated NOW and with liquid nitrogen. My son has had one for a year and I've gone through a hundred bucks in products to get rid of it and nothing works. We go to a walk in clinic now once a week and they said it will probably take about 3 months but we have to go EACH and every week. At least they are covered! But that is what you need. Wash them, scrape them and Liquid nitrogen. The storebought stuff didn't do a thing but then we didn't keep at it every week like we should have. It costs about $30.00 if you want to try it yourself but wash it, scrape it and then use the stuff and DO IT every week! I suggest you use water shoes/thongs any time you are in a public pool and don't walk around barefoot as they are contagious and that's how they are spread. If you can't afford that and want to try home-made remedies I read where one person said she put a dab of cotton from a qtip dipped in apple cider vinegar on it every two or three days covered that with a bandaid and then remove in the morning and put clear nailpolish on it. Scrape it and repeat. Other people swear duct tape on it works...I don't know though I can't see why an adhesive would work. I wouldn't use bleach...just cause well it's BLEACH...

here's an easy one. use dr scholls corn removers. Leave it on for 2 weeks if you can (replace it if it falls off). It will actually eat out the planter wart and it will be gone. I've used this for warts before and it DOES work. I havn't had any re occurances since.

yes it is; my son had some bad ones that weren't responding to some treatment. Went to a dermatologist who gave the pharmacist instructions to make up some concoction. We put it on (just a liquid that didn't even hurt) once or twice a day and the warts came off in a matter of weeks. Up until then, I thought he'd had to have them surgically removed.

When I was a kid and lived in Florida I got Plantar Warts. They called them sand spurs. I didn't have to have surgery. The doctor just cut them off my feet. Didn't hurt. At least after a few days I could again walk without pain.

Yes, go to your local pharmacy and ask one of the pharmacists there for the over the counter medication for plantar warts. I know that they have the medication as CVS. It is in liquid form and it some sort of acid so you must be careful when using it because it will also kill healthy cells as well. But I am sure the pharmacist will explain all of that information to you when you ask where you can find it.

Absolutely. You can purchase over-the-counter wart removers, or get a prescription for more powerful meds from your doctor which dissolve the wart. They can also be frozen off in your doctor's office.

YES!! There's a treatment i've found at Walmart. Its called Wartner, comes in a blue box. They probably have it at the grocery store too. Its basically a home version of burning it off. Much cheaper too. You can also try this cream kinda stuff called "compound W" its something you use daily for a while.

Even under local anesthesia and an electic cautery, I have had them recur. They are deep and difficult under any circumstance. Local medications are not likely to do the job.

If your brave enough, cut it off and cover it with duct tape! The duct tape might work without cutting it off first, im not sure. You could try it!
Our Dr. is the one that told us about the duct tape!
