First of all to get your hair to grow you must have the ends trimmed every 4-6 weeks. If you want to where it curly I recommend using a moisturizing shampoo and conditoner like Dove, or shampoo and conditioner for curly hair try Loreal. Before you style put a little leave in condioner in try Netrogena Triple Moisture. Then use a curling gel doesn't matter what brand, the one I use is from fx it's real cheap allow hair to hair dry slightly then spray on Hot Spring heat activated treatment from Loreal. Use a diffuser and flip your head over drying the underneath first then flip and do the top scrunching as you dry. Should leave you with managable soft curls.
If your going to straighen same thing use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, like Dove. After washing comb out all tangles and apply Loreal's Hot Straight heat activated straightening cream. Use a round brush to dry hair a section at a time then use a ceramic flat iron to smooth. If need be use a finishing cream of some kind to smooth fly aways. You might also want to look in a deep cleansing shampoo to use before the moisturizing since you'd be applying so much product. Good luck hope i helped.

I have really naturaly curly hair and it's very thick. The first thing I did was to find a really good hair dresser. It cost a lot of money, but once a year I go to this really expensive hair salon and have my hair done. They highlight it and cut it and layer it and thin it for me. They do a fantastic job and it is well worth the money. Then the rest of the year I just let my regular hair dresser cut my bangs. This way I have a fantastic cut to work with. It cost big bucks, but it lays beautifully and it is so much easier to work with. I found my hair dresser through word of mouth. I started asking around through friends and people I would see whose hair I liked. I would just politely ask who cuts your hair. Then I would ask the hair dresser if they were experienced with long thick curly hair. If the answer is yes then you have your hair stylist. If you don't get it right the first time then try a different one next year. The other thing that is really imporant is to use professional products. It really does make a difference. Have your stylist suggest products for whatever look you are going for. Get the shampoo, conditioner, and styling cream for that look. Good Luck!

I had the same problem and i agree that you should grow it cos long curly hair look really nice but i hate to say it but theres not much you can do till then, my adivice is dont get trims just wait it out patiently cos i will grow, the only way itll grow longer if if its in good condition, so use hair masks once a week, so itll be stronger and wont break as much = longer thicker hair. i also recomend almond oil. leave that on over night and itll improve you hair condition sooo much. Try not to blow dry it cos that also damages it and if you do make sure you use heat protecter spray to prevent damage. If its short the best thing to do it add gel to weigh it down so it doesnt go so frizzy.

also i no this is gonna sound soo crazy but DONT use shampoo it damages hair sooo much and curly hair peeps dont need it cos we have dryhair. but slowly get out of the habbit of doin it . just use light conditioner. ive been doin it and ive had so many complements on my hair. and my hair hasnt been getting greasy or smelly.

hope this helps

Try spraying each curl with hairspray as you do it. Once all curls are done, spray your whole head and let everything dry really well, then bruch into desired style and spray again. That should hold it all in place. Also, if the hair is really long, the weight of the hair itself will unravel the curls faster than short hair.

Curling creams work really good on frizzy curly hair. I also have curly hair, mine doesnt sound as curly as yours but sometimes I get really frustrated with my hair too. Leave in Conditions might also make it not as poofy and frizzy. If you do blowdry your hair be sure to use a diffuser attachment or else your hair will be really poofy and frizzy. You could try half pony tails, they might make your hair look more even. Creams for dry hair work really good too. If you dont have a cream for that you could use body lotion. I use a really good straightening cream by Loreal, its in a pink bottle. Anyways, I hope I was help. Good Luck!

I have really curly hair too. I use herbal esscenses gel and hairspray...it locks the curls really well. just scrunch as much gel as you want into wet/damp hair and then to finish...spritz some hairspray all over to lock in the frizz. It takes like 5 minutes and it's pretty simple.

Super curly hair!!!

Wrap your hair when u go to bed. Use a hair moisturizer to keep it from frizzing at night but it won't weigh down ur hair.
