You must put things into context. Someone quotes a bible verse, or a half a verse, and you get the quote completely out of context. Sometimes a single verse can suffice a question. If someone comes at you with something and you prove them wrong due to it's context, good for you. If you can't prove them wrong, then they are right. Right? So, take the statement of homosexuality and prove wether it's right or wrong using the very book you got your statement from.
God says that:
-homosexuality is a sin, because it is sex outside of marriage. And he created marriage to be between a man and a woman. Therefore, a relationship involving homosexuality and sex will be viewed as a sin because they could never be married according to God's law.

Only one?? I just talked to a lady who did a study on it and found 78 passages about homosexuality. I know of at least 3-4 off the top of my head.
Cut and paste theology doesn't work, you're right. All verses must be taken in context and viewed as part of the whole book. Homosexuality is clearly listed as a sin, but so is lying. Where are the people toting signs that say "God Hates Liars" ????
People are human, so they like to be playground bullies at times. Every sin is condemning, it's not right to pick on one exclusively. People are condemned from birth, thanks to Adam and Eve. The only thing that matters is knowing Christ, not avoiding certain sins.

The people are right and they know the bible. Homosexuality is condemned in more than one passage.

The Bible teaches there is only one unforgiveable sin. Only one, and that is to curse the Holy Spirit. All else is forgiveable. The Bible needs to be read in it's entirety in order to appreciate the inspired word of God.

I think that the people that do it use the lines that work with them and their beliefs as proof but if it does not work for them then they cry that things are being taken out of context or as you said that you can't use on line or passage as proof of something.
The bottom line is that they refuse to see that the bible has a lot of inconsistencies.

It's difficult to generalize like that. The same people who get bent about someone taking one line of the bible to use against them, use one line to go against others. But not all Christians do that.

Maybe one passage says this, but there is also the story of Sodom, and also in Romans about people taking after unnatural lusts.

1Cor 6:9

There is more than one reference to homosexuality in the bible.God really shouldn't have to repeat himself but by mentioning it more than once he makes it crystal clear that it is an abomination to him. Abomination means he more than hates it.
