Do you ask for it in its English name? Ask the server for help? Attempt to say it? I've done all three...what do you do?

I ask the waiter first just to make sure that is what I can eat, or point at it and say 'I'll try this one'. Simple it is.

I just nicely point to it when the server comes to take our order. I tell them that I cannot pronounce it and then just smile it off.

I simply ask the waiter, because I'm NOT SUPPOSED TO KNOW.. I mean if you don't speak or read russian, french, italian etc.. why should people expect you to know how to read and pronounce it... ask away my friend there's nothing wrong in asking..

the waiter would probably guess what you want in the end so just keep with the three things you have already listed

Just point at it. You can ask the waiter to pronounce it for you when you point at it .......... that's what I usually do.
