Seconding Mike B...you can buy guns online...I just done it today, got it in about four hours ago and went shooting.
You just have to contact a gun dealer in your area and have the firearm shipped to him, and you fill out the paperwork and do a transfer in his shop. No big deal, really. Plus, if you buy it from another state, no sales tax!
