The customs and the traditions of Türkiye would not be end by counting. We have lots of traditions. Let me explain the best and the most enjoyable one:

To give a girl in marriage :)))
After the new couples decision for marriage, they have to take the agreement of their families. The guys family visits the girls family with flowers, Turkish delights or etc. gifts to get the permit for this marriage. After getting acquainted, the girls father asks the guy about his education, occupation, wealth and any bad habits as smoking, drinking, playing gamble. The girl can not join the conversations, she listens from the kitchen and servs Turkish coffee for the people and a salty one only for the guy. If the guy doesnt tell anything and continues drinking the salty coffee, it means he is tolerant and he would be a good husband. If the girls father likes the guys answers and behaviours, the guys father starts talking: "Our son and your daughter met before and decided to marry. By the order of Allah and by the agreement of our Prophet we want your girl to our son" Girls father answers: "Yes, I liked your son, but I have to ask my wife and again to my daughter" After the agreement of all, they shake the hands and decide the engagement and wedding ceremony dates.

This custom may sound nonsense to someone but its one of the most enjoyable Turkish tradition for me inspite of always being the same conversation in every meeting for giving a girl in marriage.

And I have to say that I lied to my father-in-law about smoking!!!

Good luck for your project...

Hello, I would love to help you with that assignment .However,I do not know what you mean by "customs". Do you mean "social" or " religious" or " national" customs?? The country is mainly muslims(99%) and their religious customs are the same as most Arab countries (two religious festivals : Eid ul Fitr and Eid -ul Adha) .They are very hospitable and host the guests with the best food and drinks. They love drinking tea at breakfast and their breakfast is composed of cheese, olives, honey, butter, tomatoes, eggs and bread..their cuisine has so many varieties ranging from veggies to meat(especially lamb and beef). The family ties are so close and they have closely knit families where the respect for the elderly and love for the young is considered as a motto. They have a beautiful country they are so proud of...
Good luck to you with the project.

you could do a search as I've just done:

http://www.enjoyturkey.com/info/culture/Customs.htm
http://destination.turquie.free.fr/acoutume.htm
http://www.mymerhaba.com/en/main/content.asp_Q_id_E_94

I recommend the last site as it is a website that I'm familiar with. I think you will find you have more than enough to work on.
