Best thing is drink in moderation. The gas in beer is very bad for a hiatus hernia as it tends to inflate the stomach with carbon dioxide and make the hernia worse. It also irritates the stomach lining making the gastric stomach worse.
Minimise the damage by eating before you drink, take less beer and more non fizzy non alcoholic drinks. Sounds like im a killjoy but you did ask.....lol

Pine Nuts, I think.

I remember reading an article about foods which balance each other out. You eat an acidic food with an alkaline one, in order to neutralise the overactive effects of both.

Strawberries were paired with mangoes; pears with chocolate and beer with pine nuts.

If it doesn't work, don't blame me: blame the nutrtionist who write the article! I reckon anythng with protein in it will slow down the absorption of the alcohol through the stomach lining (pine nuts being just one example).

Good Luck: I feel your pain.

well eat something before drinking as you get more drunk on an empty stomach than having food in it.
And it depends on what you want to eat as well.
