I am changing my bad eating habits in favor of a better life for myself and I'm just curious what health concious people have for lunch and dinner. A detailed description would be helpful.

studies have shown that people who have only soup OR salad for lunch are slimmer than those who don't.

I eat a large salad for lunch most days and throw in soup on occasion.

Dinner is usually a small portion of lean meat (often chicken breast) with a potato or rice side dish and a veggie side dish (no butter!). I make a light fruity desert. We enjoy the meal, get full and are slim.

Good luck!!

Breakfast

1 cup Kashi Go Lean or Kashi Good Friends cereal
1/2 cup fresh fruit
8 ounces Fat Free Yogurt

Lunch

Salad with 3-4 ounces lean protein (Tuna, Chicken, Turkey, etc)
2 Tablespoons Fat Free, Calorie Free, Sugar Free Salad Dressing (Walden Farms)
1 small piece of fruit (apple, banana, peach, pear, etc)
1 slice of whole grain bread

Dinner

Tossed Salad with the same brand of dressing as above
4-5 ounces of lean protein
1/2 cup steamed brown rice
2 varieties of steamed vegetables - 1 cup of each (no butter)

Snacks

1 ounce dark chocolate
1 cup popcorn (air popped, no butter, no salt)

I also drink at least 90 ounces of water each day. No soda, coffee, tea, etc.

I walk 10 miles a day (5 miles in the morning, 1 mile at lunch time, and 4 miles in the evening) and I kickbox 3 times a week. I also work out to my Pilates video tape 3 times a week and lift free weights 4 times a week.

I am 43 years old, 5'8 and 142 pounds, and wear a size 6. I'm athletic and healthy, not skinny.

Usual lunch is a bag of microwave popcorn. Dinner would consist of a chicken dish along veggies, be it a salad or just plain veggies.
