I know there are three places to get your score from but I've see websites that get your score from all three places for a discount.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where or how I should get my credit score checked.

Will getting it checked by all three places effect my credit?
Should I maybe only get it scored by one creditor?

thanks

Go to www.annualcreditreport.com.

By law you're allowed to get your credit report from all three places for free. The credit SCORE is more money, but generally only a few dollars.

www.annualcreditreport.com is the best. You can check your credit report from the three major agencies (Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) once a year at no charge. To get your actual score, you will have to pay, which you can do at the same website (it's about $8 or $9, but worth it if you are planning to get any kind of loan). Best advice...sign on to the site and check your report from one agency, then go back in 3 months and check another, then in 3 months third. Then your year will be up, and you can start over again.

You DO NOT get penalized for checking your own credit report.

Let me thank everyone who responded with FINALLY getting the correct site for free credit reports...http://www.annualcreditreport.com

But he's looking for credit score guys! LOL

I won't list them all....there are a lot of places anxious to sell you your score.

I'll suggest http://www.myfico.com/12

This link is a little differant then the others. It gives your actually FICO score, but also supplies you with an explanation of why your score is low and tells you exactly what you need to do to correct your score and get it higher.

It's gonna cost you a little more. But trust me, it's worth it. Just getting the score doesn't tell you much other then your history sucks!! Having someone point out why is very helpfull.
