I asked the same question a few Jimbo's ago. I forget what my best answer was.

In Germany we say "Gesundheit" and it does not mean "God bless you", it means "health", i.e. it means you wish the person who sneezes health. No one here says anything with a religious meaning when someone sneezes.

I say bless you, but only because I have been saying it since I was old enough to talk. I don't say god bless you, just bless you.
Not meaning it literally. It's just a saying.

you diry ****!! put your ******' hand in front of your nose next time
:)
no..we still say "bless you"- probably because we dont really connect it with god, but with being polite :)
and i dont remember that having any significance with god( unless you put his name in front of it)-
the phrase is just used because your heart stops beating for a millisecond - and atheist dont actually want to die either, so its fine
