I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A SKY BOX AND SOMEONE ELSE HAS OFFERED THE OLD STYLE SKY DISH DO THEY STILL WORK OK OR DO ONLY THE MINI DISHES FUNCTION NOW

still work the same ..i have two dishes..old one can pick up more channels believe it or not !!!

chances are that if the dish been left on someones wall for a while UNUSED then there is a good chance of condensation in the LNB (thats the little box thing on the end of the arm that sticks out)

common problem on the old style dishes, used to cost about £50 just to replace that

when we converted to sky digital a while ago we were advised that the area we were in it was better to have the old style dish for better pick up so yes it does still work just the doofer in the middle was new

yes the old style dish will work a digital sky box prviding the lnb on the end of the doish is updated.

Yeah, you can replace the receiver thingy in the middle of the dish (LNB) to pick up freeview, sky, etc. even if it was originally an analogue system, obviously you'd need a new receiver indoors.

the old dish should still work I think. You could try calling Sky to check.
