Did all the things I was prompted to do such as shut down any antivirus programs, and closed all other programs. Now there is a window that has been running for hours that say Microsoft Malicious Software Remove Tool. I can't shut down my computer or do anything while this window is running.

hold in the power button then the pc will go off then you can restart the pc . Microsoft Malicious Software Remove Tool. microsoft have put that on there website for windows users to download to check there pc for mailware . Malicious Software

babe is correct. if u just hold on to the power button it will eventually shut off. this is one of the reasons as to why i wait atleast a month after microsoft comes out with a new software before i try it.. they have too many bugs initially

"babe..." is correct. Hold in the Power button for 5 seconds or so until the PC shuts off and then reboot it.
You should be okay once you reboot.
