i am 22 years old, five months pregnant and i need a job. i need some kind of income because things are really getting tough. at the moment i have no income, living off of food stamps, and i dont have any transportation. im not even going to expect help from the father because every since we found out about the baby, its like hes the one with the mood swings. i really want to go back to school as soon as possible, but when the spring semester starts ill be 7 months. i'll have to leave in the middle of the semester. anyone have any idea on what i could do?

tough one. never been in your situation.
first of all your babies father has to help, don't give him a choice.
i would wait until i have the baby to return to school. i know what its like to be almost due and i know what its like to be in school. so i know that to be almost due is hard. to be in school is stressful. put the two together it makes sense to skip the semester. than in the summer time take some classes so that u r not behind.
i know that jobs are not soppose to discriminate against hiring pregnant woman so u should theoretically be able to find work. i doubt someone would hire u though. they will just play it off that they hired someone else.
good luck

I would suggest applying to places that you can work, more than likely relaxed retail or an office that does not require excessive lifting, moving, or standing. As previously stated, it is illegal for an employer to NOT hire you because of your pregnancy, but of course they can simply state that there is some qualification you haven't met. I would be upfront with any location you go to. Let them know you're dedicated and be up front about your pregnancy (such as how long you would be available before you are due and then how long you anticipate having to be off). Big box retaliers (any big chain) are probably not as willing to work with you as private, "mom-and-pop" or small businesses are. Not applying and being doubtful is not going to get you a job, this much is true. Don't be afraid to apply! =) As I said, a smaller business would be more willing to work with you, because they can make those decisions, whereas a chain like Target is less likely to consider you because they are part of a bigger corporation that is only concerned about profits. Good luck to you and your baby! You may even consider applying at any maternity or infant stores? I would think that they may be more considerate of your application? And of course, there are desk jobs!

A lot of places right now are looking for temporary Christmas staff and you might be able to get a job at one of those for at least a few months.
as for going back to school it is always a good idea just remember the last month is the most uncomfortable you might want to try it but I would suggest you wait for the spring semester and start then. but remember going back to school with a child is very hard, but stick it out, it is worth it in the end
Good Luck

Maternity stores usually will hire pregnant women! Also, you will get a discount on the merchandise in the store...so that's always a plus! :) Try Motherhood Maternity...I see pregnant women working there all the time! Good luck!

I remember watching The Young and the Restless when I was younger...when Nikki was pregnant with Victoria, she worked at a bar as a stripper...
