I'm working on a project and need to know of a website or names of African Americans (and what they have done) to impact the nation or the community. Not looking for the obvious choices (i.e. MLK, Barack Obama, etc.), but rather unsung heros or people doing their thing that you don't really hear about. As soon as possible. Thanks!

These are not really unsung heroes but you might consider Eldridge Cleave, the leader of the black panthers, Bobby Seale, Chicago Eight Trial, Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom's Cabin, Harriet Tubbman, worker for the Underground Railroad helped free the slaves. Also look into the NAACP and the SNCC.
