I think that's evil. It would be way easier if we just build a very tall fence ( like a 20 meters tall fence ) don't you think?

I agree that is evil. If the U.S. does that, they could get in serious trouble with other countries from around the world. Probably WWIII

Well:
1. A 20 meter tall fence will be even more expensive than an electrical fence.
2. Those mexies will STILL climb the fence, even if it is 60 feet high.
3. Don't we all just want to see some fried Juan and Jose every now and then?

It really doesn't matter if they make the darned thing nuclear. The purpose of the fence is to convince gullable voters that their politicians are doing something about the problem. The fence, no matter the wattage or the height, can only be successful if it is patrolled by a large number of agents. If we had that many on site we wouldn't need the fence.

If the fence is not electrified, it will just be cut through or climbed over. If a couple hundred miles of dessert doesn't stop people what good is a non-electrified fence going to do.
But that still will not stop them from tunneling under.

i cant understand why they wish to build an electrical fence! do we really hate the mexicans that bad?!?..i say, no fence..just keep patrolling the border as is, dont erect a fancy high tech barrier..they arent thinking straight. come up with a better idea, less inhumane-IMHO

An electric fence doesn't kill someone, it just zaps them like a stun gun would. Its cheap and it works.
Not the answer to that problem, but relax, its not lethal.

The actual border fence isn't going to be electrified...it's just going to be patrolled...fences DO work, they proved it in California...

No. Nothing near the deterrence. In the interest of compassion, I say make it a triple fence, with only the middle one wired to 440. That should help for starters. Troops on the border to treat border hoppers as invaders (i.e. shoot them). Then start jailing employers who have hired illegals without documents. No government benefits to illegals. And, ROUND THEM UP AND SEND THEM HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
