Let's call it the "American Wall" since American will be paying for it.
Who knows what exactly is going on with it whether it will even be funded.
It should be called the, "Just Go Around Wall"
It's a start in the RIGHT direction!
The politicans would make very bad Ranchers, they would build a 3 sided pen and wonder why their cows keep getting out.

Last I had heard, the obstacle was the funding for it...an article stated that some 1.2 billion in federal monies had been set aside for the project, but apparently that's only worth 1 mile of fence, at current prices...I think if people ask for public transparency on the whole mess, then the job will get done without costing the equivalent of the GDP of 4 or 5 countries combined...I think they should do it this way: Each border state should be allocated monies for X miles of fence, at a maximum price of, say, 10 million a mile, no more than that. IF you priced your construction at 10 million a mile, the entire distance between the Pacific and the Gulf Of Mexico would cost, assuming 2,000 miles, would be 20 billion dollars. If they found an HONEST company to do it, they might be able to cut that in half, and if all the border states got started at pretty much the same time, they could have the whole thing at least laid out in the next 2-3 years.
I think there should be a good look at the Border Patrol, also...
Is the job being done well/correctly etc? I read a story that talked about a guy that'd been taking money to let people cross illegally...

Greetings!
The wall is approximately 700 miles long. It will be totally completed in twenty years at a cost of 1 trillion dollars.
There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that the wall is being built as a result of President Bush learning that his daughter was interested in a Mexican guy.
Also as an aside, the Census Bureau reported that in twenty years the Mexican Population in the US will be an overwhelming majority and as such they expect there to be the first Mexican President.
His first act it would seem then is ..........
Good Luck

It's pretty much waste of money. If you census guys would be thorough , turn the page and you would see that 52 % of the illegal immigrants are here on visas that have expired. So they came in legally and just never left. so how's a wall gonna stop that? If you want a wall then pay for it...leave my money out of it. I want it to go for something that will be useful. Why are people so stupid!!

It really won't do much good. The monies would be better spent on manpower and cameras.
