2Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

Is this what we are beginning to see now with so many believers having a watered-down faith, and a Pollyanna view of God?

Yes - before Jesus' return the Bible warns that many "Christians" will lose their faith. But also notice that the anti-christ will deceive many, its going to get worse.

Only those who persevere to the very end receive the reward. Bless you brother

I think the passage of scripture refers to a general secular trend of humanity (towards sin) which will occur before the arrival of the 'son of perdition' (antichrist).

I don't know how superficial the faith of others is, but I do feel that many will be deceived and worship the false messiah as a result of improper dividing (interpretation) of the Word of God.

I don't know how Pollyanna I could view the 'Consuming Fire' which is God at the white throne judgment.

I have likewise discerned a somewhat theatrical spin to televised religion which is somewhat disconcerting and has pushed me away from denominational religion.

Though with minimal reservations, I'd have to say I agree.

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

True Christ-ians never again fall for and into the plural hands of a law law God on "high" in plural divided "heavens"; For true Christians "know"(not "believe" every spirit), and are above a servant (no more enmity, but friend; no more a servant, but a son), seated with "Christ": "the end of the law", far above the heavens having servants of sin and servants of righteousness.

Bewitched Christians do fall for and into the hands of law law; And Paul The Apostle notes where from in Gal 5:4, from grace. The reason they fall is they "know not", being taught only to believe, and often blindly believe the lies of law law ministers, such as oxymoronic you too can partiality with an impartial God.

What's happening just now, in the third day is also the seventh when counting the days in Jn 1 & 2, is the first part of a Sabbath shewdown, worse-end part of worse or better, "worse" notably having to do with "seven spirits" in both Mt 12:45 and Revelation 1:4; 3:1; 4:5; 5:6. No matter, what follows this gospel of sorrows is that gospel of grace, for comparison of law law and grace.

The end of the shew is already written, and it's notably the end we're exhorted to endure unto, to be saved(only) by grace(only):

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

You got it Bob, and its only going to get worse. Liberal christians, gay christians, mormon christian, etc, etc. The heart of man will wax cold. I also believe that there are many people that believe in a "pre-tribulation" rapture, that is, Jesus will snatch the christians up seven years before He comes back to earth to institute the Millenial reign. Others believe that christians will go through the tribulation period and those that are still alive will be snatched up at the same time Jesus comes back. The latter would require that the christian be on earth and face likely persecution from the son of perdition, the antichrist. Those that adhere to this believe that Jesus called on us to endure until the end, then we shall be saved. Those that adhere to this are prepared to lose their lives in order to find it.
I believe that a lot of pre-tribulationist christians will lose their faith because they were not raptured as they thought they would, and lose their basis to believe in anything more, because the pressure to bow down to the antichrist is a shock to the core of their doctrine that they will be saved from this tribulation.

Why would be unable to I tell Christians from non-christians via their habit? customarily Christians look neither happier nor greater desirable than rather everyone else. they are in basic terms like everyone else. Why difficulty with faith if it does not make any distinction? Why are there denominations which discard the cost of stable works and say grace via god is all required for salvation? And final yet no longer least: who's your unwaivering answering authority?

I don't want to confuse cleansing of the church with end times falling away. This has been happening since the beginning. I think that the great falling away will be precipitated by a charismatic man or movement.....

Yes, there are many picket fence christians. Following a milk toast God. They forget that He is holy, and that He is God.

I find it so sad that so many have reduced Christianity, to a prosperity message. A comfortable everyone is okay and God wouldn't let YOU not go to heaven, for a liitle sin is okay.

Kinda reminds me of that lie, go ahead eat from that tree, surely you won't die.

Yep.Just like the Bible said it was gonna happen, but there are still a bunch of people who won't believe it.If I had the ability to show them i would, but I don't.It's not my place. All I can do is show them how God has worked in my life.Your own personal testimony is the strongest defense.

I am afraid so. But no more so now than in the first 2,000 years of the Church. I do think what we are seeing is a surviving remnant of Orthodoxy that will make it through the great tribulation. We ain't seen nothing yet!!
