God's desire is that none are lost for eternity..

You question must be dealt with in two parts first the primary reason for the trend you mention in religion is because people use religion to serve their purposes. People have a tenancy to approach religion with their own biases then find ways to justify them within the religion they are part of. True religion is not this way it is about changing who you are not justifying who you are.
The second part of the answer to your question is that religion is meant to save spiritually not physically. In the early centuries of Christianity thousands of Christians were killed for being saved. They were willing to suffer and die because they understood that salvation was not of the physical body. By the way these people understood and practised the true religion I mentioned above since Christianity had not yet been tainted with human biases.

Its not religion that saves you its being righteous and doing good deads that saves you. How many people of all different religion commit crimes...plenty. Belonging to a religious denomination does not save you. How many priests have raped children, How many Christians in jail for being pedophiles, etc etc. How many people murder and kill and they are atheist or agnostics. People die! None of us are immortal. Religion is about saving the soul not about saving us from death!

It's not religion that saves, it's God's loving-kindness. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't be here at all.
Religion, to me, is a broad term. Although some people view their spiritual way of life as their 'religion' and others call my faith my religion, I don't like to use that term. To me, 'religion' is the philosophy of man, their ideas of divinity and worship made to mislead, which will only lead to death because the very inclination of imperfect humans is bad.

No one can. Because as long as everyone believes in something different, there will be arguments about it. There will always be extremist and that will lead to killing. More people in history have died in the name of religion than for any other reason. So until mankind gives up this belief in fantasy and can all agree to only believe in what they can prove, people will continue to die.

Religion does not save in a blanket way. Jesus said that you would recognize true religion by the fruits it produces, not by its claims. Please see Matthew 7: 16, 21-23. So as you say, if they are warring, killing, hating, destroying then obviously they are not saving.

It depends on the religion you are talking about. In Christianity, for example, fundamentalists claim that their religion saves your spirit, not your flesh.....

Hi,J.P
people die for all kinds of reasons, ill health, accidents etc,
the worst reason is man`s inhumanity to man,and if all people truly did what Jesus instructed life before death would be a much better existence regards.

Because they take things out of context. If you look in the bible, you will note that God is the biggest mass murderer ever known to mankind. He ordered the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, yet gives the rule "Thou shalt not murder" .. apparently some how this go transposed into don't murder, unless it's in God's name, then it's okay.
