You need to face your real problems. Rehab won't work unless you are willing to look at yourself and why you want a drink. Keep a journal. Write down what happened just before you felt you had to drink. Keep this journal for awhile and you will begin to understand what your real issues are. In rehab or counseling, we are asked to confront our issues but no one really helps us know what these issues are. We can't confront what we dont know. The journal helps you to understand what upsets you. The journal identifies triggers that make you want to drink. Also see a nutritionist about proper diet. It is amazing how a lousy diet can contribute to a drinking problem. Also drink 8 glasses of water a day to cleanse your system of the toxins you are putting in by drinking alcohol. Go back to rehab with your journal.

First of all no it is not wrong to have a disease, it would be wrong to do nothing about it!!!! But, it looks like you are well on your way to recovery because the first step in the 12 step program to Alcoholics Anonymous is to admit that you are powerless over alcohol.
Suffering from withdrawls is scary, but you'll get through it with time and turning your power over to a higher power than yourself is the second step.
So, get yourself to a meeting to learn the next ten steps and you'll be amazed at your expedient success. You'll become more aware of the disease and the power it has over you, and you'll also be surrounded with others that have same difficulties.
You are not alone in the world as an alcoholic. Some of the most successful people in the world today go to AA meetings for the same reason.

Well my advise would be for you to talk to somebody. The alcohol didnt start this problem something else did, so maybe if you get to the root of the problem and solve ot you wont need the alcohol anymore. You obviously have already become addicted but you can stop. You are young with alot of things ahead of you so you should straighten out now asap .This is a crucial age when you should be looking at colleges and preparing for your future. You dont see that now of course and that is why you need some guidance and someone to help you get through this time. You are reaching out on yahoo so you atleast know you have a problem and thats the first step.

Yes, it is very wrong. The first thing u would need to find out is what is making or causing you to drink. If rehab didn't help then I would look at the home to see what is going on.. Maybe there is negative energy and maybe the home consist of alcohol as well. I think he or she and the family should give support and maybe do some counseling.

It is right that you acknowledge it!

I, also highly recommend AA. But whether you go to AA or rehab (or, better yet, BOTH), it is NOT about going into a building or to a meeting. I'm reminded of a phrase we'd hear in church. "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you a car!"

The point is, you must internalize what you learn.

There are also some medications that help. They are literal "buzz-killers." They can help but you still need a program.

Yes it is wrong to be only 17 and be an alcoholic. I think you know that. I would suggest you talk to a counselor. Or better yet find someone that has lost everyone due to alcohol abuse and talk to them. You may see how miserable alcohol will leave you when you get so far gone. And hopefully it will open your eyes to what you are doing to your body. Hope this helps.

Go to AA meetings and learn about alcoholism. AA is listed in the phone book and will give you info about the time and place of meetings. Get a sponsor and work the 12 steps. You can ask if someone will go with you from AA if you don't want to go alone the first time. My husband was alcoholic and it ruined his life. He committed suicide. Please get help now. You are very young and have a long life ahead of you. Get well and enjoy a beautiful life.
Best wishes for you. I care. Grammy

Talk to your counselor at school or a friend that would go with you to your parents and talk to them. You are so young and have such a wonderful life ahead of you just dont destroy that with being scared or you pride. Ask for help and get it. !7 is real young to have to have a drink everyday.
At least you are acknowleding you have a problem0thats the begining. There are people out there that care for you and dont want to see you destroy your life-
His name is GOD

Obviously the rehab program you went to wasn't the right one for you. My cousin had to try a couple programs before he found the one that worked for him.
Keep trying or you will regret it the rest of your life!
