It is obvious I need to quit. I already know that. I will be quitting within the next year. HOWEVER I need to know what some good tips are on hiding the smell of smoke on clothes and fingers.. I smoke very little because I am hiding it from everyone I know.. nobody knows that I smoke. I've smoked now for 12 years, and I am going to be quitting soon but I need tips on hiding the smell as I am in a new office that I REALLY dont need anyone knowing about this. Also.. my fiancee is anti smoking.

There is no way to hide the smell from non smokers. As a smoker you probably won't smell it on yourself and neither will other smokers. The smell is not only on your hands and clothes but your hair and in your house if you smoke indoors. Your friends may not have said anything out of politeness, but the nonsmokers among them know - they can smell it on you. They may think the smell comes from someone else you are around who smokes.

Of course it is best to not smoke at all, but that isn't what was asked here. Why all the preaching in stead of answering a simple question? If you have no answer, why start preaching? Here's a simple solution that does work. 1. Put a small spoon full of bakingsoda in your mouth, take a sip of water with that. 2. Wash / brush your teeth with the bakingsoda in your mouth 3. Brush for 2 min, don't forget to also brush your tongue and gums, also under your tongue! After brushing thouroughly rinse your mouth 4. Eat something, like an apple. 5 repeat if nessecary

good luck trying to hide the smell. my neighbor, we're in a duplex, were connected by laundry room, that woman smokes like 3 cigarettes in 15 mins, anyway, i can go over there for 5 min to chat, come back to my apt and smell of smoke. i hate the smell. i dont really think theres a good way to hide it. my boyfriend had to leave his military uniforms at work to change into just so they wont smell of smoke.

smoking in a car with windows down is good, wash you hands after you smoke to get the smell from your fingers, chew gum/mints. Spray deodorant to mask the smell on your clothes.

sad that cigarette smokers are made to feel like criminals

I will quit next year means you don't want to quit. If you want to quit, do it today.
that said, nothing will mask cigarette smoke. Non-smokers can smell it comin from a mile away. I knew someone who used to "hide" the smell of her smoke and behind her back EVERYONE knew. I bet all non-smokers will agree. You can only fool other smokers.

Well as far as hands are concerned washing them gets rid of the smell from hands or you can try using a sanitizer. For the smell from mouth keep mints or any other mouth freshner. Usually the place where you buy fags from, you get the mouth freshner from there only. So happy smoking.

You can't hide it. You might think you can't smell it but non smokers will smell it. It is a chemical reaction to the burn. You have no choice but to not smoke if you don't want them to smell it. Unless they just can't smell anything.

There is NO WAY of hiding that smell until you quit. You sound like a procrastinator..." I will be quitting within the next year. "

Quit NOW while you still have some of your lungs left!!

Always smoke in a moving car! Windows all rolled down and the air blowing on high. It works. No one will ever be able to tell.

Only smoke outside-even at home(your clothes will reek if you smoke inside), keep your windows down in the car, use "Ozium" spray to get rid of the smell in your car before you get out of it for a while and put coins ($$) in your ash tray - not ashes, CHEW GUM (sugarless of course), wash your hands (or use the bottled sanitizer), keep scented lotion in your purse, They have light scented body sprays to use just don't spray too much after each smoke. I used to be a nanny - I'm pretty sure this all worked because they never fired me! I smoke too but I can't stand the smell - I smoke outside even when its freezing cold. Good Luck quitting!!
