What is Narrow-band noise and Broad-band noise? in Architectural Acoustics, not in music please.

Another question is about white and pink noise, what are they?

finally, where do you think is the best university to study architectural acoustics or noise control in building for M.S and Ph.D in the world?

Thanks

There are many different "colors" of noise - the color assignment is sort of in analogy to colors of visible light, but not very rigorously. White noise has all different frequencies in it with equal probability, just like white light has all different frequencies of light in it. Pink noise has intensity of frequencies (f) in proportion to 1/f , not a very good analogy to visible light. Broadband noise has a broad band of frequencies in it, where as narrow-band noise would have a narrow band of frequencies in the noise.

Narrow band noise is limited to a certain range of frequencies while broadband noise is pretty much constant for all frequencies. Pink noise has a higher content of low frequency noise and white noise has uniform noise power for all frequencies.
