You never asked your question.

What it is that I'm supposed to answer? Aren't I using my own words now....

Christians are followers of Jesus. When Jesus was on earth he constantly quoted from the scriptures. We are urged to imitate Jesus because he was sent down here as a model for us.

Nowadays, things have to have a solid answer (EX: I don't give/take blood transfusions.....Why? I am terrified of needles, I believe that my blood is meant for me, there are so many problems when it comes to BT (AIDS, misuse, wrong type..etc) If I told a Dr. those reasons they would look at me and think I'm being stupid because "a BT can save my life". But if I told them a scripture that says that God says to "abstain from blood" and I am a Jehovah's Witness and I will obey my God.
There's not much a Dr. can do but try and trick me through paperwork to get a blood transfusion.)
WE have our opinions, but mixing them with God's Word is wrong.

Yes we can but it is much more powerful when you add God's word.
Why do I believe in Christ I just truley have that faith in my heart. God tests our faith daily Just these past weeks God has showed me so much through creation the beauty of the fall colors and the splendor of the rising mountains. And Quoting Scripture dose not make you a christian. It is what is inside that counts. If you can show christ in your life by living the sanctfied life. People will see a difference in you. When god brings you through trials and tribulations people see how you react and respond accordingly. If you are having a difficult time at work. And you cuss and complain people my think that you are a heretic. you can not serve two masters at one time.

Because if I give you an answer it is from God's Word, the Bible...not my own made up ideas and thoughts, but rather giving sound answers from the wealth of true information that the Bible has to offer. The Bible has the truth...man has the Bible, anything less than that cannot be trusted to be true...that is my belief and my opinion.
The Word of God speaks the truth...

Hebrews 4:12 & 13: "12 For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and [their] marrow, and [is] able to discern thoughts and intentions of [the] heart. 13 And there is not a creation that is not manifest to his sight, but all things are naked and openly exposed to the eyes of him with whom we have an accounting.

The Bible tells us that even Jesus used the Scriptures to teach with. Many times when he was teaching he started out with the words: "It is written..."

(45)" “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?"

Matthew 4:1-4: "Then Jesus was led by the spirit up into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. 2 After he had fasted forty days and forty nights, then he felt hungry. 3 Also, the Tempter came and said to him: “If you are a son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But in reply he said: “It is written, ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through Jehovah’s mouth."

Also, the apostles stressed the importance of the Scripture in their work...

Romans 15:4: "For all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope"

1 Corinthians 10:11: "Now these things went on befalling them as examples, and they were written for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have arrived."

God's Word is the word with which Christians base their whole system of beliefs, so there is no better way to answer a question about our beliefs than by using the Word of God.

Why would you ask a question about the Christian faith and not care what Christ has said about it? Isn't that kind of like asking a question about the constitutionality of something but demanding that the person answering does not quote the Constitution?

Christians are more concerned with the Word of God than the opinions of men.

Can you ask a question without insulting Christians?
God created my 120 billion brain cells & 130 trillion electronic / chemical connections and I know how to use them.
In asking for the definiton of a word, would you not go to the dictionary where the answer is in black & white?

When God is in you, the bible alone dont cut it. Although it is a great part of our life because it teaches you everything you need to learn in life, from fashion to sanctity its not the only thing. God gives us the knowledge to represent him at all times without the need of the bible but with the need of the everyday experiences that we have with him.

That's a very interesting question. Problem is, since the Bible is basically the "Christian's Guidebook to Life & Everything Else", it's supposed to give us guidance in all that we do or say.

Ask away.... I'll give it a shot if no one else will.

Sure, but going back to the source is practical sense.
Nothing was "fed to me". I study, evaluate and apply.
When you challenge someones beliefs, they are citing the source. Ask a lawyer not to cite precedence at trial?
