Let's say that there is only one way to get into heaven: by believing in God. Let's also say that you have proof that this god exists and is the true God. However, this god is vengeful, prejudiced and judgemental, basically not someone you would want to associate with if it were the guy who lived two houses down. Would you convert to the religion that supports this God? If you do, you're saved. If you don't, well you're at his mercy, and based on what you know about him, that's not the best thing to be.

As I said to a christian friend who tried to get me to say I'd want to go to heaven -- If the Jewish concept of God is true, I could provisionally overlook his apparently immoral behavior, because I would understand that it is all part of the repairing of the tzit-tzum and that those who died opposed to God were actually part of his plan and that they were redeemed by their part in it, and their essence moved higher towards returning to the source of all.

However, if I should get to the throne and find the Christian God sitting on it... I won't wait for judgement. I will turn and walk to hell, because the Christian God makes no excuse for his behavior. He is a bully and a murderer willing to infinitely torture criminals whose crimes are by definition finite. This is not loving or just or merciful.

I will not worship a being less moral than I am, and the Christian God is among those beings less moral than I, if he exists at all.

You misinterpret God, God has a right to be vengeful, He gave us paradise and we threw it back into His face, He gave us Love and we said screw you, He let us live when we all deserve to die. That God is no the God you describe He is not prejudiced, but He as a right to be judgemental, He created us, He gave us a Law and we broke it, He sent us His Son and we KILLED Him, He gave us a gift and we spat on it, steped on it, cruscified it, and then threw it back at Him like it was some kinda trash, if someone did that to you would you not punish them, then how much more should a rightiuos and JUST God punish us. But he is still giving you a chance to be under His grace, accept the Gift He is giving you (free of charge) that Gift is eternal life through his Son, Jesus Christ.

Im not afriad to be destroyed, if God that bad then hes not worth my time. I grew up christian believing in a vengeful angry jealous God, it was fear that kept me from questioning, and it was experience that opened my mind to other religions and beliefs.

When in the spirit, all can see your light. How would lying get you anywhere with God?
