Learning relaxation techniques such as breathing and progressive muscle relaxation, visualization, perhaps meditation..and yoga. Exercise is an excellent way to handle stress in any form. Life causes stress...but if there is some way to identify what is most stressful and eliminate it, that can be the wisest choice of all. Even one small change can make a world of difference.

I bought a punching bag, works great for me. Then again I also take medicine for anxiety.

And Alkak is wrong, most medicines in the field of mental health are NOT addictive, at all, and they are not at all impossible to stop taking, that's just plain wrong.

I take the meds my doctor gave me. Although they aren't being a very good help, so I need to try something new. However I always have my xanix to fall back on.

Delete it out of your life, lets say u hate ur job, dont quit till u git a new one, then walk up to ur boss n say ur fired n walk away and smile. I had lots of problems w/ my X i went to see the doc, he said what ever it is thats bothering you, DELETE it out of your life, i went home packed his bags, told him to get off his happy *** n get out. WOW did that feel great. try it u might like it... good luck...

herb teas, exercise, boys/girls nights out, reading, nature walks, getting rid of the irritant (legal way), talking to a closest friend.. take your pick
i would not recommend medication tough... most of them addictive and almost impossible to get off
