I served in the U.S. Air Force during The Vietnam war as a medical corpsman-2 1/2 years stateside, 1 year in Vietnam. I often had to deal with the devastation some airmen suffered some young chicky back home wrote and told him that she didn't want to be his wife or girl friend anymore, or that she was pregnant with his buddy,s child. This one of the worst thing you can do to a soldier. So consider your mov very. very carefully.

You sound like a snot nosed spoiled brat. Anyone that has a solder in their life and is willing to write him or her and tell them you are not here to pamper me so I am going to get on with my life and find somebody else is not worth having. I don't know how old you are you sound about 15 years old. I have a lot more to say but, I know they would kick me off of here if I did. So all I am going to say is I hope you get what you give.

Just the fact that you are asking the question shows that you are not ready for a truely commited relationship. If you really knew in your heart that he was the one then you you would wait come hell or high water. Instead you try to get the opinions of others.

If he is on the frontline fighting for you to have the choice whether or not you want to be with him, stay. wait. Trust me it's worth it.

Ask him his intentions if he wants to eventually marry you let him say so. If he doesn't answer or says no then move on. While this will still hurt him in the short run he will be better off and you will be better off in the long run.

move on, i'm only saying this because i dated an army guy for almost 2 years, i was in love and waiting on him and it just turned into a big mess, i'm married now to an Airmen, i still have to wait on him but we are MARRIED and are permanently committed to each other, any branch of the military has girls just waiting for the men all over the place, try to find your own happiness, if your meant to be together it will happen but don't wait on him if your not in a permanent relationship,

first of all he is on front lines like how heroic is that? if you can't see that then maybe you should move on, he deserves someone that would stick by him... i mean you really have to keep in mind that maybe he will be okay because you would give him something to look forward to come back to... just like he is fighting you should fight for him.. stick by his side... only if you really want to be there if you don't then back off so maybe he can find someone who can.

Thinking like that proves that you are definitely not his girl friend.
And as Answergir said, this is not a military question.
