I am trying to be on a diet, I hate fruits and vegetables. The only vegetable I like is spanich...I can tolerate cucumbers, so I was wondering, "What will make them taste better?". Any ideas make make things like carrots and such taste better would be appreciated. Quick ideas without cooking please as it is for my lunch at work and has to be something I can just throw together. Thank you so much!

throw some veggies itogether in a salad
things like garbanzo beans (chick peas), salad dressing, boiled eggs (chopped), or shredded cheese compliment carrots and cucumbers in a salad
also maybe add some chopped meat (turkey or chicken, as ham is high in sodium)

CREAMY CUCUMBER SALAD
3-4 cucumbers, peeled and sliced
1/2 red onion, sliced thin
1-2 tomatoes, diced (optional)
1-1 1/2 cups Hidden Valley Ranch or Cucumber Ranch dressing

In large bowl, combine all ingredients, tossing to coat the vegetables. Place in refrigerator and chill before serving.

I marinate cucumbers in some italian dressing for a few hours and then eat them.

You do realize that any healthy diet requires vegetables? A diet to lose weight MUST include veggies, whole grains, lots of water and NO junk food or refined foods.

Well, there's the old standby of ranch dressing....

Try peeling your cucumbers and carrots. It takes away that bitter taste!

Also, get some deli meat (shaved ham or turkey) and eat along with your veggies.

Sea Salt also adds alot of flavor without as much sodium as regular table salt.

not sure how healthy it is, but my mom makes a cucumber salad w/ cucumbers, lite mayo, vinegar, salt, & pepper.

for carrots - try canned carrots in the microwave and topping them w/ brown sugar - yum!

lastly...how about asapragus....it was probably gross when you were young but you should give them another go. I like them covered in olive oil, salt, pepper, & a tiny bit of garlic blackened on the grill.

The easiest thing is rice wine vinegar, very yummy - no calories. Carrots are good dipped in ranch. Most vegies taste good raw dipped in ranch.

Its probably worth pointing out that it takes 1 exposure to something sweet to make people like the flavor. And EIGHTEEN for something savory. So keep that i n mind when trying new foods or getting your kids to eat things that are good for them.

I like to dip my carrots into Lemon Pepper. And my cucumbers I marinate in garlic powder, onions, salt, pepper and red wine vinegar.

Try any salad dressing that you think you might like the taste of. It is okay if its not fat free. In fact its better that it isn't. Your body needs a little fat to help you absorb the nutrients in the veggies. Dunk your veggies in it, don't drowned them though. Also, lite dressing is okay.
