And It's not an anniversary or birthday? Is there a reason he couldn't buy you something himself?
Well, I think you should tell him how you feel. After all relationships should be built on trust and friendship as well as love and so talking about it is OK!
Just say "i don't feel comfortable accepting a cheque from you. It makes me feel..... (fill in the blanks)"
If he insists it was purely out of love and not meant the way it came across (and basically he just wanted to spoil you) then go out there and spend it! But perhaps on something you will both enjoy. Good luck.

Accept it in the manner in which it was intended. If you reject the gift you will only hurt his feelings. If this becomes ahabit that bothers you then you need to sit down and talk to him. Buying somthing that you can both share will help if you are that uncomfortable. But all in all men are suposse to buy gifts for the women they love.

it's a gift and it's something he gave you to make you happy. but let him know that its not all about materialestic things and you love him for him and not for what he can give you, But there is nothing wrong with accepting a gift.

Return the cheque to him saying that you would prefer if he bought something for you instead. Then it would be more personal

He gave it to you because he wanted to. Accept it gracefully and if it bothers you buy something you both will enjoy.

baby girl, return the check back. say thanks, but no thanks. you don't want your relationship is base on money or gifts. and you don't want to be labeled as a materialistic type. if he wants to buy you a gift, that's fine. but a check? that's tacky.
