I would ask my girlfriend to end all communication with him after she has told him that there is absolutely no chance of them getting back together. Then any and all communication from that point on I would personally talk to him to let him know that he has to let go of her and move on. If my girl refused to handle it this exaxt way she is probably hiding something or she has no consideration to make her new man feel secure and protected from anything happening. I once had this happen to me and I was furious because she would not tell him to never talk to her again, thus making me feel that she did not think we would be together forever. So if you honestly do not want to lose this guy ever.......cut the ex-boytoy off and call it a day. Or don't and just admit to yourself you are playing the guy your with. Or maybe you think you are getting played.

My husband gets angry when I talk to my exboyfriend or exhusband. Then he says he's just kidding. He just wants me to be aware of his feelings. My exboyfriend is one of my best friends and my exhusband is the father of my children so he's getting okay with it. Sorry, I just had to answer.

of course he gets jealous
and if he shows up at random times the current b/f has the right to beat him/run him off
and it's not cool if he just wants to be friends if his girl wants to still be friends she can still be friends with him without me being her boyfriend
the ex needs to respect her new b/f and also the new b/f's tek9 and stay away or face the consequences of encraoching on another mans territory(a clip getting busted in his face)

First, he should ask her if she wants to get back with her ex. If she does, oh well, the guy who likes her is screwed. But if not, proceed as if you don't know about the ex.

Depends on her. Is she pushing him off? My one ex has made it known that if I ever wanted to start something again, he'd definitly do. But I don't want him, and my bf knows that I don't want him. Yes, my bf is a little jealous, and I know it but he also trusts me and has faith in our relationship that I would NEVER do anything to hurt him.
It all depends on YOUR relationship. Talk to your girl.
