the best medicine that could help you is time, and not playing with the injured area. I know its hard not to play with. For the discomfort, try rinsing your mouth with some salt water.The mouth is the fastest recuperating part of your body.

It will repair itself as long as you did not bite it off.
Keep the germs at bay for faster healing. Use peroxide mouthwash (colgate has some) at least 3x per day. Brush and floss and rinse 2x per day. No meds needed.

Leave it alone and it will heal itself. You may get a ulcer but it will only hurt for a couple of days.

you should leave it alone, rinse with salt water to clean it but your tongue is coated with its own healing agent called peptide, even a tongue poercing is completely healed in 10 days the tongue is the fastest healing organ in the body

You will never bite anything as hard as you do when you bite your tongue. So i feel sorry for you!
Lightly salted water or bicarb water is good for bitten mouths.

just put some ice on it? suck on some ice cubes to make it less painful. usually the pain is gone after few hours.
