Usually not at all. The doctor does not have the magic cure contrairy to popular belief. Only go if you have a persistant cough for 5-7 days, fever of 102 or higher for 24hrs, or you see spots in your throat or have difficulty breathing

I now go at the beginning but that is due to a preexisting medical condition. Before I did not go to the doctor for a cold or flu at all.

I never go for cold or flu. I would only go if it didn't seem to be clearing up or my immune system was weak or if I were very young or elderly or had an existing serious condition.

Otherwise keep warm, drink plenty and take pain relief like paracetamol if you have a temp etc.

Usually not till the middle, usually four days after you have it.
Best thing to do do. is when you feel something coming on,
drink eccinacia tea with lemon and honey, it helps your
system fight against the cold/flu, but trick is to catch in the
beggining.

There is no reason to go at all UNLESS you have trouble breathing, acute chest pain or vomiting and diarrhea that has made you dehydrated.

Other than that, there is nothing to do but wait it out. It's a virus and antibiotics do NOTHING for it.

i stay home and treat it myself unless it was something that would need a prescription medication and was clearly damaging my body
